  • This is episode #13 of The On Preaching Podcast, the podcast dedicated to helping you preach faithfully, clearly, and better.

In this episode, we will talk about preaching without notes.

    Rewarding young professionals

Here are twelve practical recommendations that will help you learn to preach without notes:

    1. Decide if preaching without notes is for you.
    2. Preach with notes, sort of.
    3. Start your study as early as possible.
    4. Study the text diligently.
    5. Have a clear sermon skeleton.
    6. Write a full manuscript.
    7. Make clarity your top priority.
    8. Internalize the material.
    9. Master the material through word associations.
    10. Practice the message.
    11. Preach the message, not the manuscript.
    12. Just do it!
